Is Barack Obama a Marxist?

This seems to be the most popular question these days and with Joe Biden banning TV stations from asking tough questions – Americans are interested in the latest hype.

Some distinctly remember how the word ‘liberal’ sank Dukakis, democrats also remember! Right now they call themselves progressives, because it sounds better.
Make no mistake, progressive and liberal is the exact same thing. They might not advocate outright corporate ownership as that would imply communism more than anything, but they do want to spread your wealth around and grow our already bloated government. How Obama can deny that he is proposing wealth distribution when HE himself said to the now famous Joe the Plumber that we should “spread the wealth around”. How stupid does the think we are?

Still, there are more sinister ties to Mr. Obama. His New Party endorsement that he asked for is a direct relationship to Marxists and communists. His relationship to William Ayers is interesting in more than just the terrorism aspect, but Ayers is a self-proclaimed small ‘c’ communist! He attended a church where black liberation theology was preached. Do you know what BLT is? No, it is not a tasty sandwich.

It is a perverted idealogy that is founded on Marxism. They teach and preach class warfare through the prism of race. Look it up – be disturbed. Even if I give Obama the biggest benefit of the doubt and BELIEVE that he never heard Wright’s preaching of hate, then he definitely heard BLT.

Obama is endorsed by the Communist USA party and has brought out more support, donations and participation than any other candidate in history of the party.

Obama proposes more and more government expansion and a more progressive tax system.

Obama is the closest thing to a Marxist that we ever had running for president of the United States. His victory would represent a disturbing, alarming and upsetting move in the WRONG direction.

A video of mine I made a month ago on the subject:

Media, will the real objective source please stand up?

In this election season there has been a surge in participation, from youth to minorities to those who never cared to vote. With this surge comes a natural desire to learn and gather information – not for everyone, but for many.

Interestingly enough the choice of information even in this great country of ours is not as vast as one would think. The media is split and traditional journalism is lost somewhere in the fray. From a casual observer’s standpoint I see two major TV networks; CNN and Fox News. Ignoring for now local papers and internet, let us assume that most Americans get their news information from the aforementioned sources.

Both conservatives and liberals however, vehemently accuse both networks of extreme bias. Those in the middle have to choose which source is the legitimate source for their political and daily needs. I am noticing that CNN emerges as the status quo of the neutral. That assesment not withstanding it’s consequence immediately shuts the door for many individuals.

Why? If one decides for whatever reason that CNN is the only source of legitimate information that means all other stories are invalidated. This is wrong. Take Fox News for example, nothing arouses more anger and venom within liberals than hearing the name Fox News some have lovingly began calling it Faux News. Regardless of what you think about their lean – which is a self-admitted conservative – how does it invalidate the facts? They report the story, you can determine FOR YOURSELF whether the story is important or not. They will try to put a spin on it for their own personal views, but so does everyone. Journalism is a romanticized concept that if ever existed has long been perverted by money and power.

Consider the following recent developments:

CNN dismantled and destroyed Joe the Plumber. Is that really relevant? Does it matter whether he paid his taxes or not?
CNN runs more stories on Palin’s negatives than they do on Obama. You would think Palin is running for president.
Fox has done specials on numerous Obama connections. You would think he is a terrorist.
Fox has done extensive research and reporting on ACORN, etc.
You would think that our entire country is under attack from ACORN.
Blogosphere has everything from conspiracy theories to obscure facts. I don’t know anyone that strictly relies on this news source…

In just that example, if you followed strictly one or the other – you are doing yourself a great disservice. For whatever reason the networks decided that some stories are more important than others. I would doubt that any rational American would argue that CNN desires for an Obama presidency and vice versa for Fox.
Why has our society reached a point where we are too lazy to disseminate our own information? Everything must be delivered quickly and in one location! A one stop shop for news sort of speak. Our phones have becomes our cameras, computers, calendars and watches. Short of feeding and defending us, our phones can already do everything. We have become a society of the all-in-one.

Unfortunately if you treat your news source in the same fashion, you are no better off than Soviet citizens of old reading Pravda. Certainly seemed legitimate did it not?

Hey Joe! You are the most popular plumber in America.

The way I see it.

Spread the wealth around definitely sounds bad, Obama had little to say there. McCain should have used the words “socialism” and “liberal”. Obama looked bad, but it could have been worse had McCain gone for the kill.

Spending cuts was more of the same crap and I doubt Americans much care about the details put forth by the candidates. Obama gets the point for eloquence and for wisely bringing up Bush. Oof.
Although I did enjoy “if you wanted to run against Bush, you should have run 4 years ago”. cute.
Why can’t McCain just say “Obama you voted with your party 97% of the time”. So much simpler. ugh.

The question that Bob posed about nasty ads, was an absolutely perfect setup. PERFECT. After 5 minutes of useless back and forth, McCain finally went for it. Put Obama on the defensive! Excellent work John! Took some courage, but it is about freakin’ time. Obama spun it as he always spins it, but we actually know more details about this than the average American. McCain pursued it pretty well and tied it with ACORN, it was imperative to mention that in 2001 he was still unrepented. It was effective, I don’t care what the CNN polls indicate.

The question of vice presidents. Paradox perhaps, but tables turned where Obama championed the old school experience and McCain defended the “bresh of freath air”.
Obama could have pounced on her inexperience, but chose not to. McCain went after Biden’s foreign policy, but I sincerely doubt that anyone cares. If Americans are comfortable with Obama’s experience, I am sure Biden’s is a mere nuisance.

Energy. Score on the unilateral dig, way to make him look green. Obama’s answers were awfully long-winded on the matters of NAFTA. But alas, DRILL NOW BABY, because we will still be using oil in 10, 20, 30 years. Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional.

Healthcare. This is probably Obama’s strength as his socialized healthcare approach is very appealing to most Americans. Even though his plan will cost over 60 billion (still not sure how he plans to pay for all his programs) it just sounds very appealing. McCain’s credit sounds weak in comparison and his vague prevention proposals don’t resonate. The whole thing was a mess and it felt like McCain stepped into a mine field. The only notable thing that made me burst out laughing is McCain calling Barack “Senator Government”. LOL!

Roe v Wade. McCain showed his weakness and his disregard for conservative judges and he is not gaining any brownie points from his base. I would prefer a moderate Supreme Court, but that is becauser I fear extremes.

Unfortunately Obama spun that one badly again, fact of the matter is that his voting record suggests that he is willing to allow infants die on the table. That is disturbing and I am very much pro-choice.

Obama 1
McCain 0

Education, I completely missed because my friend IMed me. My attention span is not commendable, so I will just give them both 1 point :)

Final comments. McCain should have attacked Obama, but he gave a very run of the mill statement. Obama pulled another Bush trick and good for him. I am sure it’s working very well, since people are voting with their 401Ks rather than brains.

Results:
Obama: 5
McCain: 5
