ACORN Fourth video, part two.

On today’s episode, Hanna explores the virtues of entrepreneurship and self reliance with her new found friend Tresa! Tresa gives Hanna some much needed relationship advice, advice sure to be useful in life’s challenging ordeals. In terms of the ACORN saga, the excitement is starting to wear off. Not only has Tresa firmly proven to be unhinged, but her stories of murder and violence appear to be largely exaggerated. Personally, the first three videos were far more incriminating than the ramblings of Tresa Kaelke. Here is the second part, but it’s hard to hear and rather unexciting.

Democrats health plan exposes more lies, Baucus’s plan rejected.

According to theHill.com it appears that the last vestige of Republican support has melted away in the form of Olympia Snowe who expressed concerns over the budgetary constraints the health reform bill poses. When a woman who voted for the 787 Stimulus package is concerned over price, you got a problem! Max Baucus feels he addresses some of the concerns put forth by critics, specifically payment of the program. In the speech to Congress, Obama suggested the Democrat’s bill will not add one cent to our deficit by matching every expenditure with a cut. He also maintained NOTHING will change for those currently insured. OK, let’s see how this holds up.

The proposal is as following:

Fees on insurance companies, drug makers, medical device manufacturers and insurers. Tax of 35 percent on insurance plans costing more than $8,000 for individuals and $21,000 for families, applied to premium amounts over the threshold. Cuts to Medicare and Medicaid. A fee on employers whose workers receive government subsidies to help them pay premiums. Fines on those who fail to get coverage.

Baucus’s measure would cost $856 billion over 10 years — far less than the $1 trillon-plus bills approved by four other congressional committees and less even than Baucus’s previous estimates. The price tag also falls below the $900 billion limit set by President Barack Obama.

First of all, without delving into how many people are affected we can see beyond any shadow of a doubt that no cutting is taking place. There is no shrinking of government, no reduction in departments, agencies, employees, etc so that is lie #1. There is a nasty tax on “wealthy” health insurance programs, therefore cost of insurance programs for at least some people in America will rise, lie #2. Obama also alleges that Medicare/Medicaid will not suffer. According to whitehouse.gov’s reality check, they suggest de-funding Medicare is a myth!! Baucus proposes deep cuts in medicare/medicaid, some sources suggesting up to 500 billion dollars. Lie #3? You bet. But this actually raises a much more serious issue that some have missed.

In summary:

  • Medicare will not be cut: Lie
  • Nothing will change for existing insurance holders: Lie
  • This will be paid for by cuts in government: Lie

As you can see, when the federal government has printed all it can print and faces a situation of critical magnitude the solution is to cut services. After decades of abuse and mismanagement Medicare and Medicaid are broke, they are so broke in fact, that in twenty years the liability cost of these two programs will exceed that of Social Security. Yet by injecting themselves into the health business in the first place, they have crowded out health insurers, raised costs of existing insurers through regulation and significantly compromised the market to provide competitive health care solutions. We find ourselves in a situation where our seniors are utterly stuck and are at the mercy of government bureaucrats, not a good place to be! There is no time to usher in a private solution because the market is broken due to intervention. Americans could easily be facing a similar prospect in 10 or 20 years, between Medicare/Medicaid anywhere between 70-80 million are affected, but we are putting more and more people on a deadly hook.

With so many lies, half-truths, inconsistencies and contradictions one has to question all motivation behind this “emergency” reform. We know there are 30 million uninsured at any one time, with less than half too poor to actually afford anything, so this almost 900 billion dollar plan is intended for something else. Even if bought insurance straight up for all the uninsured the total cost would be a fraction of the proposed number. Instead liberals are simply providing a mechanism by which the federal government can pay for programs they themselves mismanaged in the first place! Medicaid also has strict restrictions on what plans seniors can actually purchase further restricting people’s freedom to choose. This is a convoluted system designed to permanently entrench the government’s position in our health industry to pay for and cover up previous mistakes. This plan is being sold as a benevolent solution, but the amount of contradiction leads me to believe that something more sinister is afoot. Perhaps I am reading too much into it, but how can we possibly trust the people behind Medicare/Medicaid with handling our care? It is madness!

Oh, spare me the racist commentary, the anti-Semite Jimmy Carter already made me aware of this fact.

Fourth video on ACORN released; Murder? Lobbying? Prostitution? You bet…

As predicted, another video has been released by people I imagine will not only be heroes in America, but will inspire copycat infiltration of similar organizations in the coming years. James/Hanna take their show to California for their fourth “trick” and this time a white employee spills the beans. Not only does she admit to murder, but provides extensive advice on how to utilize prostitution proceeds for a political campaign. She then brags about lobbying several prominent politicians in the area including Senator Barbara Boxer and hiding vast profits from her “escorting days”. It’s entirely possible the lady has an ego inversely proportional with her brain size and could be fabricating a good portion of her accomplishments, but she does point out that people like Obama have NO idea where the money is coming from. Considering Obama’s ties to ACORN that run all the way back to his community organizing days, I think he might have a pretty damn good idea.

Watch for yourself (Part 1):

Can’t wait to see tomorrow’s episode. They should run these nightly on TNT, who needs Jay Leno, when you have ACORN Gone Wild!?

ACORN Housing loses funding, good day for American taxpayers!

ACORN has been under significant pressure from two heroes literally risking their life to expose ACORN and the criminal enterprise they have built on Alinsky’s principles. For every liberty loving and red blooded American, ACORN represents everything that is wrong with this country. Most of us have discovered this awful organization accidentally during Obama’s campaign. We learned slowly about ACORN’s involvement with the Community Reinvestment Act and it’s mafia-style tactics they used to intimidate bankers. We learned that Obama represented ACORN during a lawsuit in Chicago, where ACORN alleged that banks practice discriminatory lending practices. Although Obama’s involvement was minimal his roots as a community organizer and presence in this case suggests that he is partial with their views. Lastly, we discovered the following video of community organizers and Obama pledging his support and acceptance of ACORN’s agenda. Then we learned that ACORN was knee deep in voter registration fraud and are now being investigated in numerous states.

We took a heart breaking setback during the discussion of the 787 Stimulus package, when a Republican discovered 4.1 Billion allocated towards ACORN (and similar groups) of hard earned taxpayer money. He proposed an amendment, but was struck down 51-45 despite every Republican voting NAY. Democrats made it quite clear to whom their allegiance belonged to and Americans were not on that list.

However the tide is beginning to turn. Last week we learned that two brave and courageous film makers went undercover and exposed ACORN for the criminal thugs they truly are. A third video shows ACORN’s employees providing advice and encouraging our undercover heroes to commit tax fraud. Despite the film makers open admittance of being involved in prostitution, sex smuggling, under age sex slavery and opening a brothel! Last week the women caught on the first two videos were fired, but ACORN lost their U.S. census project a major setback for the thriving criminal enterprise.

Fast forward to today! Republicans emboldened by the recent ACORN scandal have proposed an amendment to the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2010. Sen. Mike Johanns (R-NE) proposed the amendment to specifically strip ACORN of housing funding and I am glad to inform you that the amendment passed 83-7. This is fantastic news and comes with an added bonus of exposing turncoat Democrats best described as enemies of the state violating their core duty, protecting and upholding our Constitution.

Burris (D-IL)
Casey (D-PA)
Durbin (D-IL)
Gillibrand (D-NY) (The so called blue dog)
Leahy (D-VT)
Sanders (I-VT)
Whitehouse (D-RI)

They voted against funding ACORN despite Johann’s statement:

“ACORN has received $53 million in taxpayer funds since 1994 and that the group was eligible for a wider set of funding in the pending legislation, which funds housing and transportation programs. “

This of course still leaves the following questions.

1) Is ACORN still eligible for the stimulus money that Democrats deliberately voted to keep in.
2) Is ACORN Housing being funded via any other channels?

3) Are there plans to defund the parent organization?

The following has to be done as soon as possible.

1) Halt remainder of all funding to the criminal organization known as ACORN and it’s numerous affiliates.
2) Pass legislation to return all of taxpayer money back to the US Treasury.
3) Launch RICO investigations for racketeering charges.
4) Label ACORN as an organized crime enterprise, arrest top officials and dismantle the organization

Any Congressman or Senator that wishes to oppose should be paraded around the Internet and removed from office at the next election. Keep in mind that ACORN has threatened to sue James O’Keefe/Hannah Giles and FOX News for smearing them, naturally because these stories are not being covered by any other news network. As of now I applaud James for slowly distributing these videos, one per day. By doing this he is putting ACORN on the forefront and via Fox News and the Internet, Americans will learn the true sinister nature of this organization. I hope more videos are coming and would be shocked if we do not see several more within the next few days.

Senate closing illegal alien coverage, the one Joe Wilson "lied" about…

Courtesy of the guys at PatriotRoom, looks like Joe Wilson’s remark resonated through the halls of Congress as quickly as it did through the wires of the blogosphere. In a story breaking today, it would appear that the loop hole the ICS wrote about – the inability to verify citizenship – will indeed be closed. Democrats apparently will continue marching right off the cliff as long as the One keep spewing inspiring rhetoric.

On one hand this story should be amusing, on the other hand it saddens me that in this vehemently partisan administration the only way to actually get legislation passed is to call Obama a liar on national television. Proof in this stipulation lies in the fact that two amendments to ban illegals from health coverage were struck down by Democrats.

September 11, 2009 Posted by | healthcare | Leave a Comment

Who is the actual liar, Obama or Joe Wilson?

Joe Wilson may have erred and is the source of condemnation of his party, but virtually nobody is discussing Obama’s bitterly partisan speech or his ideas – no, Joe Wilson is the topic of conversation. Job well done, whether intentional or not. However a divide between the left and right continues to rage and now the nitty-gritty regarding illegal immigrant coverage is on the forefront. So, who is the actual liar?

First of all, we need to figure out just how many illegal immigrants are in this country. This number varies drastically depending on source, here are just some examples:

Center for Immigration Studies: 6 million
New York Times: 11-12 million
Department of Homeland Security: 11.5 million
American Resistance: 15-20 million

Let us also assume that tracking people without any documentation or formal entry is very difficult and estimating these numbers is hardly an exact science. Let us however assume that the number is closer to 12 million because that was the number cited during amnesty discussions last year and is roughly the number that Obama omitted in yesterday’s speech by suddenly citing “30 million uninsured” instead of the usual 46.

According to the now infamous politifact, a source I have long stopped trusting claim the following:

Most illegal immigrants are also now excluded from Medicaid, the
government-run health care for the poor. We didn’t see anything that would change that.

One place where the bill does mention immigration status is for
“affordability credits.” These are tax credits for people of modest means need to buy health insurance. The credits would help them buy insurance on a national health insurance exchange. The bill specifically says that people in the United States illegally are not eligible for tax credits, on page 132, section 242.

Ultimately concluding that Joe Wilson is the liar, not their hero Obama. However the center for immigration studies disagrees with this finding offering two very clashing facts.

1. “On July 16, an amendment by Rep. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) that would have required use of the SAVE program to prevent illegal immigrants from receiving the affordable premium credits was defeated by the House Ways and Means Committee.” If Democrats were truly interested in banning illegals from taxpayer funded health coverage, why would they possible strike down this amendment!?

2. Regarding these very same tax credits. “Section 246 of HR 3200 states, “Nothing in this subtitle shall allow federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.”2 But as CRS points out, “HR 3200 does not contain any restrictions on non-citizens — whether legally or illegally present, or in the United States temporarily or permanently — participating in the Exchange.”

Regarding Medicaid/Medicare, Congress (specifically democrats) have purposely voted against stringent restrictions for verification of legality.

In conclusion, the ICS states the following (they are also assuming 6 million illegals) :

“This report estimates the size of the illegal population without health insurance and incomes low enough to qualify for the health insurance affordability credits contained in The America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 (HR 3200). Although the bill states illegal immigrants are not to benefit from the new affordability credits, this prohibition is without an enforcement mechanism. Congress voted down an amendment in committee that would have required the use of the SAVE program. Almost all other means-tested programs of the kind found in HR 3200 require the use of SAVE. As it now stands, the bill has a ban on illegal immigrants, but Congress has chosen to leave that ban unenforced. As a result, the nearly seven million uninsured illegal immigrants with qualifying incomes could receive affordability credits under the bill, creating billions of dollars in costs to taxpayers. If the final version of health care reform includes a public option plan and if illegal immigrants enroll in that program instead of receiving affordability credits, the costs would be less for taxpayers. Nonetheless, if the government became the direct insurer of illegal immigrants, the cost of covering them would still run into the billions of dollars.”

Obama spent 48 minutes lying to America and apparently he was very successful.

Was Joe Wilson justified in calling Obama a liar?

Perhaps Joe Wilson achieved the unintended when he accused Obama of lying yesterday during the much anticipated health reform speech. Every blog, news source, cooler conversation is buzzing about yesterday’s reaction. Today on talk radio in the morning, callers were passionately arguing the actions of Joe Wilson and condemnation from Wilson’s party has been vociferous.

In this video, you can see for yourself what the hoopla is all about and notice Obama comes out slinging first accusing Republicans of spreading bogus lies and being cynical. While I found the entire experience enjoyable, it was only because of the factual underpinnings – that is Obama was indeed being less than truthful and as discussed in my previous post, the usual number of 45+ million uninsured most DEFINITELY includes illegal immigrants.

However, Joe Wilson broke with tradition and interrupted a presidential speech to a joint meeting of Congress. As with any kind of argument about the spread of government and the slipping slope of bureaucracy we should apply the same kind of fair reasoning here. That is, if we were to allow angry Congressmen or Senators to shout out their opinions, thoughts and convictions regardless of their passion, we would be allowing actions that could potentially dissolve the process. Our highest legislative body should not reduce itself to the likes of a circus and while I can appreciate the passions of Joe Wilson, allowing this kind of behavior can usher in a dangerous precedent. While Wilson spoke for many of us who were frustrated by clear obfuscations and lies, he did so inappropriately and without justification.

We must maintain order and civility and find mechanisms by which we can point out the President’s misinformation outside of his televised speeches.

Obama’s Joint Meeting of Congress Health Reform speech analysis.

I watched the whole thing, all 48 minutes of it and found the speech to be rather predictable, but I did jot down a few key points of interest for those interested in the general gist of the speech.

Generally, Obama’s tone reminded me slightly of his campaign rhetoric and he had some inspirational moments convincing his audience that something must be done. True, something needs to be done – but unfortunately his proposals are not the solution, because his analysis of the problem is incorrect. Worse still, despite weeks of discussion and analysis of several key “lies” and fallacies Obama continued to maintain the following:

  • Health coverage will not change: Obama still continues to maintain the impossible. Those that have health coverage will not experience a change. Really? Except that he plans to dump 40+ million people into our health system, so the strain of so many additional patients not play an adverse role on our coverage? After all, a main problem of our insurance system is the excessive and abrasive over-use of medical facilities/procedures, we will simply magnify this problem.
  • Caps and restrictions on health insurance: Obama plans to restrict health insurance providers from dropping coverage and to remove expenditure caps. While there may be some merit in those kind of regulatory procedures, he sure as hell contradicts his first point and egregiously so.
  • Illegals will not be covered: Obama accuses the right of smearing his coverage and suggesting illegals will be covered. This is the same guy who advocates driver licenses for illegals, learning Spanish on behalf of illegals and signed SCHIP legislation that dropped checks of social security numbers? His constant claim of 40+ million uninsured (suddenly revised to 30 million tonight) invariably implies illegals! In fact, this claim is so comical that a certain Republican (Joe Wilson) could not hold his tongue and yelled out “liar!” during the speech. A highlight of the evening no doubt. Check out the video and observe Biden who hangs his head in shame as if mourning for a friend and Pelosi’s jaw dropping, shocking everyone in the audience who were impressed that her face allows for such mandibular gymnastics. Obama is stunned by such insolence and almost evokes sympathy, but only momentarily considering he spent one minute beforehand bashing Republicans and calling their arguments “silly”. Sticks and stones…
  • Holding insurance companies accountable: Obama claims that he will hold companies accountable, but still maintains that nothing will change. If one believes that a flurry of regulations, laws, rules and restrictions play no role on a private company to function – then this lie is easy to swallow.
  • Republicans are being partisan: Obama mentioned several times and suggested that he will be open to Republican ideas and collaboration. Unfortunately for Obama, Republicans sent an official letter requesting a meeting and were blatantly ignored several months ago. A President that can get in front of an American public and pretend to be bi-partisan, while leading a clear as day partisan effort should not be trusted.
  • No Deficits: Obama maintains that his health reform bill will not impose any additional costs and that all costs will be matched by spending cuts. We have heard the cost for this reform ranging from 900 billion to 2 trillion. An equivalent attempt at such health reform, here in my state dubbed as RomneyCare is projected to cost more than 2 billion more than originally anticipated. Does anyone truly believe that government price projections are ever accurate? The same people who championed Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid – all three of which are either broke or will be broke. This is the most outrageous of all claims and most impossible of all to believe, after all they just passed a stimulus package worth almost 800 billion dollars – where do they plan to cut?
  • Oversight commission: Obama promises to reduce Medicare “waste” by implementing a commission of doctors and government officials to reduce inefficiencies and waste within the Medicare program. Only problem is that this waste is introduced by government intervention into the health care system in the first place. Countless of abuses are reported of hospitals exploiting procedures to get paid by bureaucrats, as is the nature of virtually every other government program. Why should we trust the government to clean up waste when it’s THEIR programs that are being wasteful in the first place? Worse yet, this further demonstrates the expansion of federal government agencies, employees and laws. We are already suffering from an ever growing federal government and Obama promises us more and more.
  • Death Panels are lies: Obama continued his partisan rhetoric by accusing Republicans of spreading misinformation about death panels and unequivocally stated that no such thing will exist, ever. Another lie. There will indeed be legislation to pay doctors to provide end-of-life counseling and services to the elderly. They may not be death panels per-se, but just like Canada/Britain, mechanisms will be implemented to reduce “wasteful” procedures on the elderly. Ask Barbara Wagner’s family of how a state run health system can offer to pay for a death consulting, but refuse to pay for life saving cancer medicine and then ask yourself whether Obama is being truthful. I would have sent you to Barbara directly, but government run health care makes short work of sick people.
  • Public option: Obama defended the public option although claiming that only 5% will be using this option. I find the number hard to believe, but Obama’s refusal to reject the extreme leftist radical portion is probably the only political move he could play.

The tone of the speech was divisive and partisan, filled with platitudes and vague promises virtually impossible to deliver on. While the speech may hit home with people particularly sensitive to health insurance mishaps, most Americans educated on the matters and familiar with the bill will reject tonight’s speech as ‘more of the same’. Obama brought out his campaign fervor, but brought nothing new to the table and the legions of Americans who are now participating in political matters will not be easily fooled by Obama’s bad medicine.

Obama’s FCC Diversity Czar – A history of radicalism.

Let us quickly look at a man by the name of Mark Lloyd and his official position of Associate General Counsel and Chief Diversity Officer (not a czar technically) a a man who was once employed by George Soros‘ Center for American Progress (CAP). Beyond the jumble of fancy sounding names, keep in mind that CAP is an extreme left leaning think tank with George Soros‘ as a major benefactor. If George Soros is willing to put up his hard earned cash to support this body, good chance it qualifies for his radical agenda.

Views on talk radio: Mark Lloyd’s rise to fame and inevitable appointment within the Obama administration is his stance on “equalizing” talk radio. He wrote a piece while employed at CAP, proposing a plan to impose harsh fees on successful talk radio stations and divert that funding to the likes of NPR. Come again? Is this just not blatant distribution from successful private stations, to much less successful stations? The thought of wrestling private property (in the form of profits) for the sole purpose of balancing unsuccessful stations is repugnant. Mark Lloyd may have an “intellectual” background and speaks rather eloquently, but how much education does it require to understand that if there was a market for liberal or progressive talk radio – then there would be liberal talk radio stations! Air America was a fantastic example of moneys pulled together to challenge the presence of conservative radio, stacked with some liberal heavyweights (Franken, Springer, Montel, Garafalo). End result? In 2004 programming began, by 2006, Air America Radio (the official company) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. One does not require a Yale degree to determine where there is no market, there is no product. Note: The station now exists under the new company Air America Media.

Lloyd outlined and proposed the following:

  1. Restore local and national caps on the ownership of commercial radio stations.
  2. Ensure greater local accountability over radio licensing.
  3. Require commercial owners who fail to abide by enforceable public interest obligations to pay a fee to support public broadcasting.

Questions arise. What should be the punishment for “failure to abide”? Could fines be used to put “non-abiders” out of business? How is this remotely constitutional? (Not sure why I bother asking that question anymore)

Admiration of Chavez: Glenn Beck has talked about this quite a bit and uncovered video(video here) of Mark Lloyd speaking at the National Conference for Media where Lloyd said the following:

“…In Venezuela, with Chavez, really an incredible revolution- a dramatic
revolution – to begin to put in place saying that we’re going to have impact on
people of Venezuela…the property owners and the folks who were then
controlling the media in Venezuela rebelled – work frankly with folks here in
U.S. government to oust him…and had another revolution. Chavez then
started to take the media very seriously in that country. “

Whiskey-tango-foxtrot!? So basically, Chavez was trying to launch this wonderful revolution to help the poor people of Venezuela, but the pesky private owners of radio stations and the goons here in America failed to appreciate the merits of Communist takeover? So Mark Lloyd truly appreciates how much power the free press has in a democracy and how one needs to curtail these freedoms to achieve benevolent goals set forth by Socialists. Mark Lloyd has written material to propose artificial balance of radio waves and his admiration for Chavez leads reasonable people to assume that Lloyd is a proponent of state controlled radio.

I would like to remind you that free press is the cornerstone of this country and the framers said it best:

“The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first
object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we
should have a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government,
I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter. But I should mean that
every man should receive those papers and be capable of reading them.” –Thomas
Jefferson

How does Obama know Mark Lloyd? Would a man who has written and said the previously discussed ever have passed the confirmation hearings? Worse yet, Obama is using these people to drive his true liberal agenda while appearing moderate to a majority (albeit dwindling) of Americans. This appears to me a plan set in motion long ago, successfully brushing aside his own radical past, he is now using people who subscribe to his ideology to push this country in the direction of a Statist utopia while the population sleeps.

Well….wake the hell up people, before it’s too late.
